Create Video Messages with MediaPOINTE
Simply add a camera and microphone
After you have had a conversation or meeting with your clients and you want to follow up with them, send them a video message instead of just an email. You will definetely stand out compared to your competitors.
How can you do this?
With one of the MediaPOINTE DMR's connected to a camera and microphone you are ready to record video messages. You simply press record, start speaking, press stop and post the MPEG-4 or Windows Media Player file on your website or streaming server. Now you email a link to your recipient and they can watch the video you just recorded for them. With the DMR210e you can even allow them to download the video message onto their iPhone or iTouch. And with the DMR310 you can add a PowerPoint presentation to your message.

Unicast vs. Multicast for Streaming
What is the difference?
Unicast is the sending of video content to a single destination. "Unicast" is derived from the word broadcast, as unicast is the extreme opposite of broadcasting. In computer networking, multicasting is used to regain some of the efficiencies of broadcasting. When multicasting is unavailable, unicasting the exact same content to many users can be costly, due to the bandwidth needed.

Multicast |

These terms are also synonymous with streaming content providers' services. Unicast servers provide a stream to a single user at a time, while multicast servers can support a larger audience by serving content simultaneously to multiple users.
Multicast is the delivery of information to a group of destinations simultaneously using the most efficient strategy to deliver the messages over each link of the network only once, creating copies only when the links to the destinations split.
IP Multicast is a technique for one to many communication over an IP infrastructure. It scales to a larger receiver population by not requiring prior knowledge of who or how many receivers there are. Multicast utilizes network infrastructure efficiently by requiring the source to send a packet only once, even if it needs to be delivered to a large number of receivers. The nodes in the network take care of replicating the packet to reach multiple receivers only where necessary.
MediaPOINTE offers products that can Unicast and Multicast. Contact your local sales representative or our website www.mediapointe.com for more information.
